Is NOT the time to present to L&D, with the chief complaint that "I'm not eating well."

Just FYI.

And yes, the moon was full last night. The crazy was out in full force.

Ok, I've been stalking your blog for awhile. I've never been pregnant (I'm planning to wait till I'm at least 30, to the horror of many of my relatives). That beings said, does everyone go absolutely STUPID when pregnant or is it just a select, annoying few? I'm sorry that you get to deal with them, in the middle of the night.

Kristi- Stupidity is common, regardless of age, sex, or anything else. It is a human trait, and some just suppress it better then others.

Agree with Grumpy. But remember, MOST patients are normal...so I never blog about them. They aren't causing my to pull my hair and cuss under my breath. But the crazy is everywhere - it existed where I went to college (worked as a file clerk in an IM office), in medical school, in residency, and now here.

It exists is every type of practice. We talk about the crazy in the surgeon's lounge. At Med Staff meetings. Peds call them "Mad Mommas". I say "It's going to be a long pregnancy." Pain Management says "Pain is supratentorial" (aka it's in her head). ER docs know drug seekers.

Anyone who deals with the public knows this - waitresses, salesclerks, etc. Crazy just is.
