No, I am not going to start pitocin on you right now. You see, even though you are miserable and uncomfortable and CAN'T MAKE IT ANOTHER DAY, I have some reservations about starting an induction on someone due in November.

Sorry. Go home and stop bothering the L&D night nurses, who already know you, since this is your 5th visit in the last week for the disease "tired of being pregnant."

It's going to be a long October...

If not Pitocin, what about Norcuron?

Or IV Vodka for me?

That sounds better. Might be easier with a central line.

TOBP = tired of being pregnant. I believe this should be a genuine medical diagnosis, for the number of times we see this on L&D.

TOBP? Oh, I'm so sorry for you. Now, would you like to go tell your complaints to the woman next door who is 23 weeks along, has already lost 3 babies due to cervical incompetency, and is just praying that this baby makes it to viability before her body forces this baby out in the cold cruel world of the NICU - complete with the associated medical procedures to try to keep him alive after he's born????

Hi, this is going to sound very strange but could you send me an email to stacey8127@yahoo.com? I have a unique situation and wondered your thoughts (dont worry nothing you say will result in anything I do, okay now I sound like a nut case :()

Ugh, the worst part is there is nothing you can do to stop the crazy. I had a hell of a long September, so hopefully your October will not be as bad. IV vodka is likely the treatment of choice for dealing with patients like these... :)
