Constant learning

So I'm filling out my infectious disease report for last month. I had a post-op infection in a patient, cultures grew out a bug I had never heard of before! Staph Lugdenens. (I think that is how it's spelled, I'm at home)

So I did some research...discovered in 1988 and most commonly found in inguinal (hmmmm) sites as a carriage bug. Fortunately, antibiotic resistance is low. Frequently confused with S. Aureus.

And the patient is doing fine after antibiotics.
