So my knee is swelling up and my ROM is minimal at best. My leg fricken hurts and I don't/can't be on narcotics when I'm on call on Friday. Went back in today to see PT and ortho. Was placed back onto crutches. Here's hoping no crash sections happen when I'm on call this weekend.
LE dopplers are negative for DVT, which is good.
Got to see video of my scope - he was really impressed with the derangement. Dr X said that he taped it to show residents, since it is such a "nice" example of plica with impingement of the joint.
If you're going to have problems, do it well. At least it wasn't all in my head.

Good luck. I'm pulling for you. I know coverage ain't easy in the boondocks.
Try to rest as much as you can between now and the weekend. You don't want to mess up the knee again rushing around on call.
I was lucky to cobble together a week's worth of coverage.
Got paged today by another oblivious OB who wondered where I was.
At home dingbat because I had SURGERY last week!
Good thing you didn't die. They'd only give you 2 weeks off for that.
I feel like a total wimp.
I dislocated my pinkie toe and was out of work for three days! And I had to wear one of those big boot things on that foot for a week after that.....I made do with ibuprofen, though, and frozen peas from Trader Joe's for the pain.
You have surgery on your knee and barely off work for a week? You are an amazon!
(I did go to work the day after the incident...my toe swelled up and hurt so badly I thought I'd have to go back to the the MD....).
Actually, we had an OB about 2 years ago who had a devastating CVA...he has now retired but for awhile there, his patients were just being taken care of by whoever was next in the no-doc order. It was a rough few months, since he had a more-than-full practice.
In my hospital we have only one GYN/ONC doc. A few years ago he had 8-10 post-ops in house, then fell down and broke his leg.
He steadfastly plodded on. Took no pain meds, got a bed on the onc floor, and wheeled from room to room to make rounds before going back to his own.
