I have the same rule as grumpy. If I'm on time for a medical appointment and I haven't been called back into the exam room within 20 minutes, I walk out. I'll call a few hours later and tell them why I won't be going back there. I don't think any of them care.
I told this to my current doc and he laughed. And the only time he's been late, the front desk staff told me he would be late and apologized profusely. I think he does this with everyone and is the only doc I've seen that respects his patients time as much as he expects his patients to respect his time.

Hell, I turn them away when 20 minutes late and don't care.

Agree with Chad. My time is valuable. And so is everyone else's.
Obviously, shit happens. Docs have emergencies. Patients have flat tires. Exceptions can be made. But every situation is different.
